A Vain Attempt in English to Accommodate Divers
The hour of innocence, of hopes and dreams
Though etched upon the sundial of our youth
Refracted through the pyramid of hope
Becomes an edifice that is uncouth
And as its minutes pass with fleeting tread
Sketched briefly on the clock-face of old age
(Experience has etched its lines thereon)
