While Columbus Never Bothered
It's now been raining hereabouts for more than half a year
More than half a gallon has collected in mine ear
I really think that if we don't see sunshine pretty soon
I shall have to emigrate and settle 'pon the moon
The heat round here is blistering, I cannot stand much more
All the skin has burned away and blistered 'pon my jaw
I really think unless the clouds vouchsafe a little dew
I shall have to immigrate and settle down at Crewe
