The Spoonbill Generator

Apparent Crimes

A packet of cheese defies the knife, [Apsley]

As targets sneer at bullets [Surlaw]

Across the country, which is rife [Apsley]

With screams of long-dead pullets [Surlaw]

That rend the heart of my unruly wife [Apsley]

Whose pocket achieves no sadder strain [Surlaw]

As haddock swim upstream [Apsley]

To dodge the never-ending rain [Surlaw]

That in the gutters will not teem [Apsley]

That rends each part of my unruly brain [Surlaw]

To that bluff cheese, the saw must be brought - [Apsley]

As guillotine to traitor [Surlaw]

When neck muscles must strain and be taut [Apsley]

Till, thirty seconds later [Surlaw]

The edge of axe on bone is caught [Apsley]
