Rescued From My Defects
There upon the ceiling, in a pattern rich and rare,
A most unpleasant fresco, laid out in human hair
Depicting with elan, one might even say panache
A bear entirely bearded, a mouse with a moustache
An arial perspective achieved in camaïeu
Wholly lacking merit, designed to trompe les yeux
A frottage most offensive
Its line all split in two
Tells you that it's expensive
but then nothing else would do.
Thus, among the cobwebs, beyond the chandelier
Repulsive little mezzotints depicting Chanticleer
Who feathers every chicken, who fathers every hen
Who keeps his randy end up by guzzling Neurophen;
An arial perspective, bereft of art or grace
A Tracey Emin knickerfest? I must be off my face!
Those scabs are not appealing! Those stains aren't margarine!
But hey, you guys - how groovy! Esoteric but obscene!
