The Spoonbill Generator

Shirley, My Wife for a Day

Some caged bird squawks [Apsley]

In Crossmaglen [Roland]

About his cottage cheese [Stacy Alexander]

But as he talks [loaf]

The caged bird walks [Stacy Alexander]

Around his owner's knees [dkb]

And walks back round again [Beefy]

Some enraged woman screams [Stacy Alexander]

At repetition [Apsley]

About her bulging waist [Stacy Alexander]

Lie some infectious memes. [Carl Marks]

The same old themes [Apsley]

And badly broken dreams [Stacy Alexander]

Some knees complain [fester]

Of overworking [Stacy Alexander]

And the onset of arthritis [Barrymore's Ghost]

But as they strain [dkb]

They are not shirking [Apsley]

However fuscous the light is [dkb]

Sometimes these poems stink [Stacy Alexander]

When the poets drink [fester]

And sometimes they shine [dkb]

And nearly rhyme [fester]

But not very often [Apsley]
