Sheepish Ambition
If the thought of hope is not enough
To enervate the acolyte's devotions
The hope of thought will surely snuff
Out even Saint Bartholomew's emotions
If thoughts of peace will not suffice
To carry us towards our quest of peace
The maybe good old-fashioned avarice
That we ascribe so fondly to the geese
A treaty of forbearance unambiguously porous
As leaky as a defrocked soul
Forbearing the treaty specifically for us
As windfarms take the place of Old King Coal
If the thought of joy will not avail
to exeed our fears of pain
Then go back to your hollow shell, And never rise again.
That's all
