Gilbert, With Giants in Hand
Have you met my wee friend, Gilbert?
He's two foot high, and wears a tie
His girlfriend, Sadie's, somewhat taller
She's eight-foot-seven to the thigh
They met while strolling through the zoo
Her handbag hit his balding pate
And knocked him almost dead
They knew that it was fate
She'd just seen the giant shrimp;
He, the pigmy platypus
Both came, though, for dwarf giraffes
A coincidence most amorous
Necking, though, they both could see
That she was tall and he was wee
He had to stand upon a stool
Which added to his anomie
But Gilbert's heart is Sadie's now
(Though touching it can strain her back)
And Sadie means the world to him
(Though he can never reach her rack)
I'm sure one day they hope to marry
And somehow re-align their "things"
For now I guess they'll have to cope
With ladders and winches and slings
