You Cannot Steal Diamons
I cannot help but feel that if only I had
One more chance to tell you how I steal
You would applaud my thieving aptitude
And lodge on my behalf, a bold appeal
And learn to love the stolen diamond you wear, my dear.
I cannot help but feel that if only I said
"I am not a mere burglar, darling, but a cat thief"
You would understand my life's calling
And not cause me so much needless grief
I cannot help but feel that if only you were
Less moralistic and had nicer legs
You would understand why I'm divorcing you and marrying her
And not have put in this one basket all your eggs
So to you my dear I bid adieu.
