A Challenge To The Juvenile
How many times have you started a line
And forgotten just how it should end
And then you must deal with what others have wrought
Instead of the line you intend
How many times have you wanted to curse
But forgotten the words to employ
And then your resentments you quietly nurse
As you sound like a hobbledehoy
How many times have you just been too slow
To find the right words and right rhyme
Or been having a life (later, Kids: gotta go!)
Visiting here from time to time
How many times have you goofed just a bit
And trying to remove foot from mouth
Found that you've manged to deepen the pit
And sent a fine pome further south
For all of those times, for all those regrets
We have but a smile of displeasury
To access the record of Spoonbill debts
Go look for yourself in the Treasury
