Olympian Breakfasting
Venus came to Athens, thence from there to Rome,
Changed her name from Aphrodite, and forgot her ancient home
Forgot her ancient habits, started dressing like a nun
Thence travelled on to Paris to seek out her long-lost son
She started in the Tuileries, and thence to far Versailles
Scouring every alley in the hope that by and by
His doleful physiognomy would glimmer through the haze
For she knew that she would find him... one of these foggy days
Yet long weeks passed
And hope grew dim
No dies were cast
Wait! Was that him?
Or was it Orpheus...?
