Meringue-laden Exclamations
At this time, most every day,
I hide my neighbour's face, and pray
That I might love her, less and less,
To mask my own unhappiness
Every day I grow more weak
As in my neighbour's face I seek
Less and less a cup and spoon
More and more the sun and moon
Every night I look to find
The mighty untruths hid behind
The earnest longing of her smile
And that she might stay awhile
Thus my pity, thus my plight
To live within her lovely sight,
Not blind to all that cannot to be
Yet hoping to end happily
