Concerto For Nobody And Drum
When the new one comes out
June the first, at nine A.M.
Smoking shall be out
Flaming shall be in
And, in between, the P. M.
When the old one goes bad
Twenty-Ten, that is A.D.
Ranting shall be bad
Trolling shall be good
And, just hard by, the B. C.
When the new one arrives
10.15, at Waterloo
Fred Astair arrives
Ginger Rodgers dives
And all those in Timbuktu
When the old one goes sour
12.20, near Shepherd's Bush
Whiskey shall be sour
Vermouth shall be sweet
And we make our final push
Then the new one went still . . .
Does this go to Muswell Hill?
Tulse Hill's not so near
And Bunker Hill's too far, I fear.
